WASHING FREQUENCY.

We recommend washing once approximately every 10 days.

INFORMATION ON WATER.

It may seem obvious, but one of the fundamental components in the washing process is water.
More specifically, its mineral composition. To ascertain this aspect, try to pour a little on a bonnet and, once dried, check if there are traces of limestone on the surface. If there are any, we recommend utilising an osmosis system which will prevent these types of problems.

PRE-WASH.

The pre-wash consists of a more decisive cleaning action aimed at removing stubborn impurities.
However, many pre-wash products provide action that is too aggressive, risking removing the protective treatments of applied sealants or waxing. For this reason, we recommend using the SP1 Prewash, designed specifically to not affect coatings and ensure perfect results even on the most difficult surfaces (chrome plating, gaskets, etc.), in both spray and foam.

HOW DO I PRE-WASH?

Always read the product operating instructions before use and the recommendations once action is complete. Do not mix different cleaning products. We recommend the use of Fra-Ber products to guarantee successful results. Proceed as follows:

  1. Prepare the Fra-Ber pre-wash solution.
  2. Spray the solution (with a sprayer or pre-compression pump) starting from the circles and proceeding from the bottom upwards.
  3. Leave the product to work.
  4. If you are sure that dirt residues have been properly eliminated, proceed with cleaning through mechanical removal (glove/sponge). If not, rinse thoroughly, if necessary using a washer with pressure over 160 bar. If necessary, repeat the actions described in points 2 and 3.
  5. Empty, rinse and fill the buckets with clean water.
  6. Wash and dry the vehicle.

Recommendations:

  • Do not wash under direct light or on hot surfaces (in this case, cool surfaces in advance with water).
  • If working under direct light, start from the areas that are not directly exposed and prevent the surface from drying out.
  • Start from the sections with stubborn dirt so that pre-wash contact time is longer.
  • Always follow the operating instructions contained in the illustrative manual.

TRADITIONAL TWO-BUCKET WASH.

The two-bucket method is one of the safest ways to treat your vehicle, and can also be combined with other methods such as washing with a foam lance or the rinseless method.

  1. 1. Pre-wash and then prepare the two buckets. The first will be used for the Fra-Ber shampoo (S1 Wash&Coat or S2 Foamy), the second bucket for rinsing the glove (for the upper part of the vehicle) and the sponge (for the lower part).
  2. Prepare the water and shampoo solution in the amount indicated in the illustrative manual. Mix.
  3. Immerse the glove/sponge in the bucket with the shampoo.
  4. Starting from the top part of the vehicle and applying slight pressure, pass the glove/sponge on the vehicle.
  5. If necessary, clean the glove/sponge in the rinsing bucket, rubbing it on a grille to remove as many impurities as possible.
  6. Repeat points 3,4 and 5 until the entire vehicle has been cleaned.
  7. Carefully rinse the vehicle from top to bottom, if necessary with a pressure washer of at least 160 Bar.
  8. Proceed with the following operations.

Recommendations:

  • Rinse the glove/sponge frequently, removing as much dirt as possible.
  • Be careful not to touch the bottom of the bucket with the sponge to avoid collecting residues that could damage the surface. For this reason, we recommend using buckets with bottom grilles.
  • Always follow the operating instructions in the illustrative manual

WASHING WITH A FOAM LANCE.

The use of the foam lance can further reduce risks to paints, allowing improved diffusion of the detergent and delaying drying. It is best to keep in mind that the use of this approach allows for the removal of dirt only on regularly washed vehicles, when not accompanied with other methods. To proceed with this technique, you will need a LS3 foam lance or similar.

HOW DO I WASH USING A FOAM LANCE?

  1. Add the foam shampoo (S2 Foamy) or Fra-Ber pre-wash (SP1 Prewash) in the quantities indicated in the LS3 foam lance tank and fill with water.
  2. Shake the solution to mix it.
  3. Adjust the lance opening depending on the preferred ratio based on the chosen dilution.
  4. Cover the vehicle with foam, starting from the bottom.
  5. Leave the product to work.
  6. Proceed with cleaning through mechanical removal (glove/sponge) or rinse thoroughly, if necessary using a washer with pressure over 160 bar. If necessary, repeat the actions described in points 5 and 6.
  7. Proceed to the next step.

Recommendations: using the lance, detergent dilution depends on several factors:

  • Washer pressure.
  • Type of injector (every brand has an injector that creates a vacuum, for example 1.25 means 1 litre per 25 litres of water).
  • The lance opening setting.
  • Product density.

For example, assuming:

  • Washer pressure: 140 bar.
  • Injector 1.25.
  • Lance opening: all closed.
  • Product density: 1 g/cm3 like water.
  • We use pure shampoo or pre-wash in the lance.

We will have:

  • Purely used shampoo/pre-wash, the final solution on the vehicle at 1:15.
  • 1:1 pre-diluted shampoo/pre-wash, we will have final solution of 1:30.
  • 1:2 pre-diluted shampoo/pre-wash, we will have final solution of 1:45.
  • 1:3 pre-diluted shampoo/pre-wash, we will have final solution of 1:60.
  • 1:4 pre-diluted shampoo/pre-wash, we will have final solution of 1:75.
  • 1:5 pre-diluted shampoo/pre-wash, we will have final solution of 1:90.

WATER VEIL TECHNIQUE.

The water veil technique, also called the “water cloth” technique, is based on the principle of creating a cascade effect that carries with it the water present on the surface. If performed correctly, especially on vehicles treated with sealants or wax, only a few traces will remain, which can be easily removed with a cloth.
